A new rapid charger has been installed in St Albans by Electric Blue and St Albans District Council.

The installation comes as Electric Blue unveiled a new initiative to its 300 plus taxi drivers, giving them the ability to trial an EV before making the full-time switch, says its Managing Director, Alex Calnan:

“Today marks an important step forward in the city’s ambitions to improve air quality for residents, as well as helping to reduce carbon emissions by harnessing electric power on our busy streets,” he says.

“Once the first taxi is operational we expect take up to increase exponentially, as owners and customers see the benefits,” Alex concludes.

Due to the rising ambitions from local councils and businesses to reduce carbon emissions in their area, APT Technologies is rapidly expanding its supply of Evolt Chargers, says Justin Meyer, General Manager: “Evolt’s reliability and cost-effective products make them a perfect choice for those looking to explore the benefits of EV Charging.”
