Allego has announced its plans to launch the first of its Scottish ultra-rapid EV charging site in Aberdeen.

The new charge points will be located just off the A92, Muggiemoss Road, and is part of a £100 million UK investment.

The site will consist of three dual-socket 300kW chargers, amounting to six ultra-rapid charge points, which can deliver a charge of up to 80% in as little as 20 minutes.

Allego already operates more than 40,000 charging points throughout Europe, and all of its charge points are powered by 100% renewable energy.

The firm launched its first UK hub in Milton Keynes, at the Stadium MK football ground, in March. Its plans for new sites will see it spend £20m annually over the next five years.

“The company’s aim is to replicate the success at Stadium MK across all counties in the UK,” said Allego managing director, Paz Sharma.

“We are urging local councils and freeholders of land to partner with Allego to drive the acceleration of EV charging infrastructure.”

Allego is is a Zapmap dynamic data partner, meaning that Zapmap app and web map users are able to see the status and availability of Allego charge points while planning their journey, or en-route to charge.

Allego delivers public EV charging technology for all types and models of EV, facilitating consumers, businesses, and urban infrastructures across 16 European countries, and counting.
