Ionity is a pan-European ultra-rapid EV charging network, providing 350 kW CCS units to drivers travelling along main routes across the UK and the continent.
Access to the Ionity network is via RFID card, smartphone app, or QR code. In the future, access to Ionity points will be able to be carried out simply by plugging the EV in, with communication between car and charger activating the session and billing the user.

Ionity network access
Access to the Ionity network is made via Ionity’s app, by scanning the QR code on the unit, or via RFID card. Users register either, and payment is taken from the linked bank account after the charge.
Finding Ionity points on Zapmap
All Ionity points can be found on Zapmap by using the network filter. This can be used on the desktop and mobile apps, and displays only those points operated by Ionity.
Charging types and speeds can be filtered too, showing only those points that are compatible with users’ cars.

Ionity is backed by Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, and VW, and looks to offer its CCS-only ultra-fast charging stations every 100 miles along the major motorways of Europe. The network’s already has points available in the UK, with Ionity expanding rapidly.
